Nissan has been holding a number of milestone meetings for key stakeholders as part of the planned rollout of a taxi version of the Nissan NV200 as the “Taxi of Tomorrow” for New York City. The video (shown above) from Nissan details its recent progress as part of this project.
The automaker said it held a first ride review of the Taxi of Tomorrow for officials from New York City in Arizona of fall of Last year, and that it completed another milestone meeting in February of this year in Manhattan.
The process to get the taxi onto New York City's streets hasn't been particularly smooth. City officials, in particular the city comptroller, had concerns over its ability to provide wheelchair access to passengers although New York's Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been on board with the program.
