New York Motorists to be Required to Use Hands-Free Technology
Next week, state of New York motorists must use a hands-free device when talking on their wireless phones while driving. Under the new law, passed by the New York State legislature and signed by Gov. George Pataki in June, motorists who violate the law face a $100 fine. The new law takes effect Nov. 1 with a one-month warning period for drivers who don’t comply with the law.
