A state appellate court has delayed the planned rollout this month of New York City's Taxi of Tomorrow in the latest twist in a protracted legal battle over the vehicle, reports the New York Times.
The city's Taxi and Limousine Commission had set April 20 as the date that taxi owners would switch to the Nissan NV200 as the standard taxi vehicle for the city. The Court of Appeals issued a stay on March 31, which was a victory of the Greater New York Taxi Association that's opposing the move.
In June of 2014, a state appeals court gave its stamp of approval to allow the plan to move forward, and Mayor Bill de Blasio said he would reluctantly support it in December.
