PRINCETON, N.J. – On Oct. 17, NAFA testified at a Department of Energy (DOE) hearing (DOE) on the issue of EPAct mandates for private and local government fleets. At the hearing, NAFA stated its support for DOE’s proposed regulation, which determines that a regulatory requirement for certain private and local government fleets to acquire alternative-fueled vehicles is not necessary to achieve the recently modified EPAct 1992 Replacement Fuel Goal.
NAFA said that Members “strongly agree with DOE’s analysis that implementation of a private and local government fleet program will not appreciably contribute to the achievement of the Replacement Fuel Goal.”
