PRINCETON, NJ – NAFA Fleet Management Association is proud to announce the release of NAFA's Fuel Management Guide, a resource that helps fleet managers take control of their fuel costs.  Effective fuel management is not only an integral part of fleet operations, but plays a major role in the annual budget as fuel is the second largest fleet vehicle expense behind depreciation.  NAFA's Fuel Management Guide

explains how to better anticipate price changes and how to identify policies, activities, and technologies that will improve fuel efficiency.

NAFA's Fuel Management Guide addresses vital issues and emerging technologies related to alternative fuels and conventional fuels in the context of both centralized and decentralized fleets.  Detailed chapters explore the issues associated with the centralized fuel management of conventional fuels; a variety of tools to fuel decentralized fleets; and alternative fuels and advanced technology vehicles, including forms of hybrid drivetrains currently available.

Topics covered include petroleum markets, the fuel supply chain, fuel quality standards, and fuel saving methods. With fleet managers in mind, the Fuel Management Guide is designed to help fleet professionals understand fuel supply and demand dynamics to better anticipate price changes, understand key fuel standards, and identify appropriate policies, activities, and technologies to improve fuel efficiency. A valuable appendix comprised of additional references make this an "evergreen" learning tool, as links to current websites provide direct access to the most current information on fuels and pricing, as well as from government authorities; non-profit and association websites; and manufacturers.

NAFA's Fuel Management Guide is available in a traditional, spiral-bound, soft-cover book; on CD; and as an e-download.  Prices range for NAFA Members from $49 for the e-download to $139 for the spiral-bound, soft-cover book.  Non-Member prices range from $89 for the e-download to $139 for the spiral-bound, soft-cover book.  CD prices are $59 for NAFA Members and $109 for non-members.

"Whether you manage an in-house fuel program or a commercial fuel program, whether your fleet is centralized or decentralized, NAFA's Fuel Management Guide will help you gain a better understanding of your second largest fleet vehicle expense," said NAFA Executive Director Phillip E. Russo, CAE.
