Two of the automotive industry’s online vehicle information companies announced on July 29, 2003 a data sharing partnership. NADAguides.com, a leading vehicle information resource on the Internet, and Chrome Systems Corporation, a provider of automotive data, configuration technology and commerce solutions, teamed up to provide the automotive industry with a comprehensive database of new- and used-vehicle pricing, specification information and related technologies. With this partnership, Chrome will be the pricing and configuration services provider for NADAguides.com and its roster of new-vehicle consumer products. In turn, NADAguides.com will be the pre-owned vehicle valuation provider for Chrome’s suite of vehicle pricing and specification tools. For the first time, this partnership will create one source of standardized new and used vehicle information for industry professionals and consumers alike. According to both companies, new online technologies are created with this partnership. First, both the new and used vehicle information databases developed by Chrome and NADAguides will be completely integrated, which will allow consumers to do things such as side-by-side new and used vehicle comparisons as well as new vs. used vs. actual dealer inventory comparisons. Additionally, the NADAguides/Chrome tools are highly customizable, enabling IT managers to incorporate them into existing online operations and customize as desired. NADAguides and Chrome have mapped their vehicle information databases, eliminating the need for IT managers to perform the mapping on their own. Finally, the companies say that with the breadth and depth of their current partnerships and client base, this union will help standardize vehicle data across the industry, creating consistency for consumers and industry professionals alike. The partnership will provide one source of vehicle information - a selling point for many businesses tired of dealing with multiple vendors in their daily operations. NADAguides and Chrome are confident that business professionals and consumers alike will benefit from the data created by their partnership.
