Mitsubishi Recalls Mirage, i-MiEV Cars
The recall affects more than 13,000 vehicles that may have defective impact sensors designed to trigger air bag deployment during a crash.

Mitsubishi Motors North America is recalling 13,558 2014 model-year Mitsubishi Mirage and 2012-MY i-MiEV cars because the impact sensors that trigger air bag deployment may not work properly, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
To fix the problem, dealers will replace the affected impact sensors, free of charge, NHTSA said.
The Mirage cars were manufactured from July 27, 2013, to Nov. 20, 2013, and the Mitsubishi i-MiEV cars were manufactured from Oct. 28, 2011, to Sept. 7, 2012.
“Due to an increased resistance in the impact sensor for the air bag system, in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the frontal, side and/or curtain air bags when the SRS warning is illuminated, the frontal air bag may have a delayed deployment and/or the side and curtain air bag may not deploy at all,” NHTSA said.
