MONTVALE, NJ – Mercedes-Benz announced that Autoweek magazine awarded the automaker’s second-generation GL-Class sport utility vehicle with its “2013 Best of the Best” award for the publication’s truck category.

For the Best of the Best award, Autoweek’s editors considered all-new or substantially new 2013-MY cars and trucks available at retail. The publication’s editors graded the vehicles on criteria including drivetrain, ride quality, handling, exterior/interior design and “fun factor.”

The GL is built in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and the 2013 lineup includes the GL350 BlueTEC turbodiesel, the GL450, GL550, and the high-performance GL63 AMG.
