Mercedes-Benz has unveiled concept electric vehicle (EV) Generation EQ with an electric drive system that features two electric motors, with a system output that can be increased to up to 300 kW, and all-wheel drive.
The vehicle offers a range of 500 kilometres, a maximum torque of up to 700 Newton metres, and accelerates to 100 km/h in under five seconds, according to the automaker. The EV was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show.
"The emission-free automobile is the future. And our new EQ brand goes far beyond electric vehicles. EQ stands for a comprehensive electric ecosystem of services, technologies and innovations," said Dr. Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars.
The vehicle will be able to automatically adjust the speed and driving dynamics based on driving conditions as well as suggest locations for drivers looking for charging stations.
The Generation EQ features a 24-inch touch-screen display that shows vehicle speed, range, driving data or navigation, and map details. The vehicle will be chargeable by induction, wallbox, or at a fast charging station.
