Mercedes-Benz to Show Next-Gen G Class in Detroit
Mercedes-Benz will debut its second-generation 2019 G-Class flagship luxury SUV at the North American International Auto Show this month, the company has announced.

Mercedes-Benz will debut its second-generation 2019 G-Class flagship luxury SUV at the North American International Auto Show this month, the company has announced.
The G-Class will arrive with some changes, including a completely redesigned interior with two equipment packages, including Exclusive Interior and Exclusive Interior Plus. Interior dimensions have been expanded for all occupants, including 5.9 inches of additional rear legroom.
Mercedes-Benz has released some details about the vehicle's off-road capabilities. It will increase ground clearance between the axles by six millimeters to 241 mm. Driving stability at angles increases seven degrees to 35 degrees. Angle of approach increases one degree to 31 degrees. Breakover angle approaches one degree to 26 degrees.
The vehicle will offer a new nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission with a torque converter that's designed for off-road driving. It delivers 40% of the torque to the front axle and 60% to the rear axle. A switch activates Low Range or High Range model.
The 18-inch all-terrain tires will be optional.
