Mercedes-Benz Recalling Nearly 2,300 Vehicles
WASHINGTON - Mercedes-Benz is recalling nearly 2,300 MY 2011 vehicles -- including the M-Class (W164), GL-Class (X164), E-Class (W212), and R-Class (V251) -- because the O-ring may not have been properly lubricated in all cases.
WASHINGTON - Mercedes-Benz is recalling nearly 2,300 MY 2011 vehicles -- including the M-Class (W164), GL-Class (X164), E-Class (W212), and R-Class (V251) -- because the O-ring may not have been properly lubricated in all cases.
Lack of lubrication can lead to leakage of the fuel filter, which can lead to diesel fuel being deposited on roads. This creates a safety hazard.
Dealers will resolve the problem and replace the fuel filters free of charge. The safety recall is expected to get under way next month, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
