Mercedes-Benz Electric B-Class Arriving In Summer
Mercedes-Benz is introducing an all-electric B-Class compact car into the U.S. market in the summer of 2014 with a price tag of around $40,000.

Mercedes-Benz is introducing a battery electric B-Class compact car into the U.S. market in the summer of 2014 with a price tag of around $40,000, a spokesman told Automotive Fleet.
The B-Class Electric Drive was introduced in March at the New York International Auto Show, where the automaker revealed it will have a range of 115 miles. The vehicle will be electronically limited to 100 mph to extend operating range.
The vehicle will take about two hours to charge for a range of 60 miles. It uses a 28-kilowatt lithium-ion battery.
Earleir this month, Mercedes-Benz reached a milestone of 1 million B-Class vehicles sold globally. The automaker introduced the vehicle in 2005 in gasoline and diesel versions, and it has been a strong seller in Germany and China.
The vehicle is popular with fleet customers in Europe, where it was voted Corporate Car of the Year for 2013, reports eMercedes-Benz. The non-electric B-Class is typically offered with the B 180 gasoline and diesel engines.
