Mercedes-Benz Adds Collision Prevention Assist to M-Class SUV
Mercedes-Benz has added a radar sensor system that monitors the distance to other vehicles to its M-Class mid-size luxury SUV for the 2014 model-year, the automaker announced.

Mercedes-Benz has added a radar sensor system that monitors the distance to other vehicles to its M-Class mid-size luxury SUV for the 2014 model-year, the automaker announced.
The safety feature, which is known as Collision Prevention Assist, has become standard equipment. If the system senses a risk of imminent collision, it alerts the driver with a warning tone and light on the instrument cluster.
The system also networks with the brakes to prepare for emergency braking. When the driver applies pressure to the brake pedal, the braking system applies up-to-maximum power.
The third-generation M-Class is available in four models, including an ML350 BlueTEC diesel, ML350 with V-6 gasoline engine, bi-turbo ML550 with V-8, and high-performance ML63 AMG. The vehicle was introduced for the 2012 model-year.
