Representing the third generation of a business founded by her grandfather in 1924, Melinda Holman has been named president of Holman Enterprises. The company comprises Holman Automotive dealerships in South Jersey and South Florida, as well as other automotive-related businesses. Steward Holman was the founder, his son, Joseph Holman, is chairman. After graduating from high school in 1978, Holman earned a BA from the College of William and Mary, and an MA from Old Dominion University. She began her career with Holman Enterprises as a manager trainee, and worked at each Holman dealership to learn all aspects of the business. Holman Enterprises is ranked among the industry’s top mega-dealers with 22 car and truck dealerships comprising Ford, Lincoln Mercury, Infiniti, and Saturn franchises, as well as a truck center with three medium- and heavy-duty truck franchises. The company also operates Automotive Resources International (ARI) in Mt. Laurel, NJ, one of the largest vehicle fleet leasing and fleet management companies in the country, with more than 325,000 vehicles in its portfolio.
