Mazda's Mazda3 and Mazda6 sedans will arrive with improved handling and more refined interiors in a mid-cycle update for the 2017 model year, according to the automaker.

As previously announced, Mazda is improving vehicle dynamics on both models by adding a technology known as G-Vectoring Control that shifts weight to the front of the car and cuts a minimal amount of torque to the engine to improve steering.

Other improvements include a newly available full-color Active Driving Display and a 4.6-inch, color TFT meter display in Grand Touring models. New driving-assist technology includes Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane-Keep Assist and Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring. Entry Mazda6 Sport models now come equipped with Mazda Connect when equipped with a SkyActive-MT 6-speed manual transmission as well as the available SkyActiv-Drive 6-speed automatic.

The Mazda6 will also receive available Nappa leather seating surfaces and a Premium Package that includes heated rear outboard seats, i-ELOOP regenerative braking technology and a bright metallic finish to switches and trim throughout the interior.

Upgrades to the 2017 Mazda3 include a redesigned leather-wrapped steering wheel with available heating, standard electronic parking brake, a deeper door pockets for increased storage.

The Mazda3 adds available Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring and Traffic Sign Recognition as well as a color Active Driving Display.
