IRVINE, CA – Mazda kicked off the New Year in style as the 2008 Mazda CX-9 captured the prestigious North American Truck of the Year title at the Detroit Auto Show.
Against a strong field of 15 competitors, including the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid and Buick Enclave, both of which were finalists with MAzda, a jury of more than 40 automotive print, magazine, TV, radio, and online journalists from across the U.S. and Canada resoundingly picked the CX-9.
Since its introduction in February, the CX-9 has won every single magazine comparison test in which it competed, as well as being named Motor Trend’s 2008 Sport/Utility of the Year, an Automobile Magazine All-Star, Edmunds.com’s Editors’ Most Wanted, and Car and Driver’s 5Best Trucks.
