Mayo Wins Automotive Fleet's 2006 Fleet Manager of the Year Award
TORRANCE, CA – Scott Mayo, director of fleet, Wendy's International, Inc., was presented with Automotive Fleet's 2006 Fleet Manager of the Year award, co-sponsored by Wheels Inc., and the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA), in Orlando, Fla., May 7.

TORRANCE, CA – Scott Mayo, director of fleet, Wendy’s International, Inc., was presented with Automotive Fleet’s 2006 Fleet Manager of the Year award, co-sponsored by Wheels Inc., and the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA), in Orlando, Fla., May 7. Mayo, who manages a fleet of 1,100 vehicles and supervises a fleet staff of four, has been involved in fleet for the past 21 years.
Among his accomplishments include working with Wendy’s IT department to design and implement a fleet Web site on the company’s Intranet. He also handles negotiations with ordering dealers and manufacturers and is responsible for the structuring and implementation of all services for Wendy’s drivers, including maintenance and fuel programs.
Finalists included Lynda Dinwiddie, director of fleet and travel, Laboratory Corp. of America; Joe LaRosa, associate director of worldwide fleet administration, Bristol-Myers Squibb; and Kathy Schulz, fleet manager, Progressive Corp.
A panel of 33 judges, consisting of past winners, manufacturers, auctions, fleet management companies, and dealers, selected the winner based on the proficiency and professional experience of each fleet manager in developing and executing key management policies. Last year’s winner was Jim McCarthy, director, vehicle management services, Siemens Shared Services.
