Lincoln showed its redesigned 2017 MKZ luxury sedan at the Los Angeles Auto Show that arrives with a sportier appearance, two engine options and a choice of all-wheel or front-wheel drive.
The MKZ is powered by a standard 2.0L four-cylinder that delivers 245-hp through a front-wheel drivetrain or available twin-turbocharged 3.0L V-6 that produces 400 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. The V-6 is paired with an intelligent all-wheel-drive system that includes dynamic torque vectoring to enhance cornering.
Improved safety features such as adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality can slow the car automatically, resuming higher speeds when traffic clears. The system activates the brakes to bring the car to a complete stop if the driver fails to apply brakes in time. An auto hold feature keeps the car at a complete stop without the driver having to press and hold the brake pedal.
The vehicle also has an available park assist feature that uses ultrasonic sensors to help steer into a parallel or perpendicular parking spot. Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection is an available technology that can help avoid some frontal crashes.
The new model contains a push-button gear shift, as well as an Active Noise Control system. It also has increased storage space, a fully retractable panoramic glass roof, and a Revel audio system.
