Inside, the IS features an extended wheelbase and a thinner front seat design to provide more knee room and easier access. A new set of 60:40 split/folding rear seats provide more cargo room in the back. The center console incorporates electrostatic switches to control air conditioning with a touch.
Lexus added that it lowered the seat hip point and the angle of the new, LFA-inspired steering wheel, and adjusted the steering wheel’s reach adjustment feature, to create a sportier driving position.
The automaker plans to reveal the new vehicle at the Detroit Auto SHow on Jan. 15 at 9:30 a.m. EST.
