'Lexus Link' Emergency & Concierge Service in New LS 430
Lexus' new sedan, the LS 430, will feature Lexus Link, an emergency and concierge service that will provide measures of safety, security and information services. At the touch of a button, or if an airbag deploys, Lexus Link combines Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) and cellular phone technology to connect the customer with experienced and trained Lexus Link advisors at anytime, day or night, 365 days a year. This is the first time Lexus has offered such a system and will be partnering with OnStar. Advisers will be housed at OnStar's call centers. With the purchase of the Lexus Link option, a year's subscription to the service is included. This service will include automatic notification if an airbag deploys, if there is a sudden loss of vehicle battery power (such as in an accident) or if there is an airbag system failure. Lexus Link advisers can contact emergency service or roadside assistance providers, offer accident assist information services, provide theft notification and stolen vehicle tracking, and lock or unlock doors remotely. Information and assistance services will include route support, ride assist (taxi request), information/convenience services and concierge services.
