ALPHARETTA, GA – LeasePlan USA held a tree-planting ceremony at Wills Park near its headquarters in Alpharetta on Sept. 20, to celebrate the kickoff of its environmental program, GreenPlan.
The ceremony was attended by a local official, an American Forests representative, and LeasePlan USA executives and employees. American Forests plants trees for environmental restoration.
Through GreenPlan, LeasePlan plants trees to counteract the carbon emissions emitted from its vehicles, a process known as carbon neutralization. LeasePlan also offers the program nationwide to corporations with company vehicles. GreenPlan was created through a partnership with American Forests.
“We have carbon-neutralized our fleet and raised additional funds from employees to plant more than 10,000 trees,” said Bryan Calloway, senior vice president of marketing and business development for LeasePlan USA.
Recent studies show, 1.7 billion tons of carbon are produced annually to fuel vehicles in the United States. Carbon dioxide accounts for approximately 85 percent of all greenhouse gases. For more information on GreenPlan, visit www.GoGreenPlan.com.
