DURHAM, NC - As part of the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin's initiative to "go green," the firm announced the purchases of several new 2009 Honda Civic Hybrids. The new hybrids will replace several of the firm's existing vehicles and will be used to transport the firm's representatives to clients' home, work, or office.

The Honda Civic Hybrid, certified as an Advanced-Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV) by the California Air Resource Board (CARB), offers fuel-saving technology with a lower emission impact on the environment.

"It's important that we recognize the effect we can have on the environment and should work to improve our impact to it for future generations," said James Farrin, president of the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin. "I felt it was my obligation to see that our firm does its part for the environment."

The switch to a hybrid vehicle platform is not the only initiative for the firm to "go green." The firm has also adopted methods to go paperless in its Social Security Disability practice area. The Social Security Disability practice area has seen both environmental and client servicing advantages after going paperless. Storing clients' files electronically allows multiple staff members to work on a client's case at the same time - providing a more optimal and efficient service to our clients while protecting the environment.

In addition, the firm is planning to begin construction on new office space in downtown Durham, N.C. The new office space is slated to obtain a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
