Kia Motors revealed its 2018 Stinger sports sedan at the Detroit auto show that appears to take aim at German luxury rivals that aim for performance-oriented driving.

Kia Motors revealed its 2018 Stinger sports sedan at the Detroit auto show that appears to take aim at German luxury rivals that aim for performance-oriented driving.
The Stinger is powered by a standard 2.0L turbocahrged four-cylinder engine (Theta II) that makes 255 hp and 260 lb.-ft. of peak torque. An available 3.3L twin-turbo V-6 (Lambda II) will make 365 hp and 376 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Stinger delivers power through an 8-speed automatic transmission to a rear-wheel drive powertrain.
Kia hired Albert Biermann from BWM in December of 2014. Biermann was the BMW M vice president of engineering, and considered BMW's top tuner.
The Stinger will go on sale in late 2017.
