Kia Motors has provided more details about its concept Trail'ster, a hybrid concept vehicle with a rear axle-mounted electric all-wheel-drive system that's breaking cover at the Chicago Auto Show.
The Trail'ster, which is based on the production Kia Soul, is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 185 hp and 185 lb.-ft. of torque. The hybrid system also includes a rear-mounted electric motor. The six-speed transmission is paired with an electric all-wheel-drive system designed for "low-speed assist, enhanced launch acceleration and improved traction in inclement weather or off-road situations."
