Kenworth has announced a natural gas option for its T880 vocational truck.
The factory-installed option is a Cummins Westport ISX12 G natural gas engine putting out 400 horsepower and 1,450 pounds-feet of torque. The engine is available with manual, automatic and Eaton Ultrashift Plus transmission options, including 10-speed LAS and 13-speed MHP series.
The Cummins Westport ISX12 G can run either compressed natural gas or liquified natural gas fuel systems.
The natural gas engine is an option on the T880 day cab and 52-inch mid-roof sleeper configurations. Kenworth says the natural gas option is ideal for T880 dump trucks, mixer, refuse, pickup and delivery and other applications with up to a maximum of 80,000 pounds gross combined vehicle weight.
The T880 also includes air-assisted hydraulic clutch, complex reflector headlamps, a five-piece Metton hood, and lightweight, factory-installed lift axles.
