Jaguar will add a more powerful base engine, safety technology, and a flagship XE model to its 2018 model year lineup, the company has announced.

The 2018 XE, XF and F-Pace will offer a more powerful 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that makes an additional 7 hp (247 hp) compared to the engine its replacing.

The XE entry luxury sedan, which enters its second model year, will continue to offer the turbocharged diesel and supercharged V-6 engines. Jaguar will also add a fifth XE trim grade called the XE S that increases power of the V-6 to 380 hp from 340 hp. The XE is also available in R-Sport, Prestige, Premium, and base models.

The three models will also offer available Forward Traffic Detection and Forward Vehicle Guidance to the menu of driver assistance systems.

Other updates include an optional powered gesture trunk lid to the XE and XF, available virtual 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster with full-screen 3-D navigation for the XE, and a new Shell app that allows drivers to pay for fuel at Shell stations using the vehicle's touchscreen.

Jaguar has released pricing for the three models. The F-Pace will retail for at least $42,065, while the XF will start at $47,775. The XE will start at $35,725.

The 2018 models are scheduled to go on sale in May.
