Infiniti will introduce a revised model of its QX50 for 2016 at the New York International Auto Show on April 1, the Nissan unit announced.
Infiniti is reshaping its compact SUV lineup in one of the fastest growing automotive segments. Earlier this year, Infiniti unveiled the QX30 Concept, which will slot below the QX50 when it arrives at dealer showrooms in early 2016.
As a move to perhaps differentiate it from the QX30, Infiniti is extending the wheelbase of the updated QX50 by more than 3 inches, which will create additional rear legroom and interior volume. The 2016 QX50 will also get new front and rear fascia, wheels, side sills and a higher ride stance.
Infiniti has been producing the QX50 since the 2013 model year, when it was rebranded from the former EX model. It began producing the EX for the 2008 model year.
