Infiniti is adding three new engines to its Q50 for the 2016 model year, along with chassis enhancements for the entry-luxury sedan, Infiniti has announced.

The 2016 Q50 will offer a new 3.0L twin-turbo V-6 that makes 400 hp that's being billed as the "most advanced V-6 ever offered by Infiniti." The direct-injected gasoline engine uses a lightweight aluminum-alloy block and cylinder heads, optimized turbine blade design, turbine speed sensor, electronic wastegate actuator, water-cooled engine charging, e-motor valve timing control and an integrated exhaust manifold.

Infiniti will offer the 3.0L V-6 with its Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 model that will reach dealers in early spring. Infiniti will also offer a 300-hp version in late spring. The new VR-series engine family replaces Infiniti's 3.7L VQ-series V-6.

Infiniti will also offer a 208-hp 2.0L turbo inline 4-cylinder engine developed with Daimler and produced at Infiniti's new engine facility in Decherd, Tenn. It will be offered in base and Premium Q50 2.0t models in late winter.

Infiniti will also offer the 2016 Q50 Hybrid powered by a 3.5L gasoline-electric hybrid system with a combined 360-hp rating in late winter.
