Mary Olson, retired regional sales manager for Wheels Inc., passed in Minneapolis on April 7 of pancreatic cancer, succumbing to the disease after a two-year battle.
She was 60.
Olson had a 42-year career in the fleet leasing and management industry, working at Lend Lease, GE Capital Fleet Services, and most recently Wheels, Inc., where she retired in 2016.
She joined Wheels in November 2000 as a regional sales manager, working from her home office in Prior Lake, Minn. During her career at Wheels, Olson won many prestigious performance awards, such as Salesperson of the Year, New Business Development Award, and was a four-time winner of the Outstanding Sales Achievement Award.
Prior to joining Wheels, Olson worked from 1989 to 2000 as a regional sales manager for GE Capital Fleet Services at its headquarters office in Eden Prairie, Minn.
Olson started her fleet career at the Lend Lease Division of National Car Rental as a client relations representative, where she worked for almost 15 years from 1974 to 1989. As a client relations representative, Olson was responsible for servicing one of the company's largest accounts, Beatrice, Inc.
She is survived by Doug, her husband of 41 years, sons Robert and Patrick, and grandchildren Simone and Oliver.
Olson grew up in Bloomington, Minn., where she met her husband at Kennedy High School.
