In Memoriam: Ray Gepp, 1929-2012
ATLANTA - Ray Gepp, a retired, long-time Buick employee, passed away Feb. 4 from cancer. He was 82.
Gepp retired from Buick in 1986, after more than 35 years with General Motors.
ATLANTA -Ray Gepp,a retired, long-time Buick employee, passed away Feb. 4 from cancer. He was 82.
Gepp represented Buick of General Motors for more than 35 years in marketing and sales in New York, Chicago, Toledo, Detroit, Flint, San Francisco, and Atlanta. He was responsible for new product announcements to dealers and national fleet showings.
Gepp retired from Buick in 1986, after more than 35 years with General Motors.
He held several positions in Buick's sales department, from district manager to assistant zone manager. In 1970, he was appointed manager, fleet leasing and commercial sales for Buick. In 1973, he was appointed fleet sales manager for Buick in Atlanta, covering the Southeast Region. He held that position until his retirement in 1986.
Gepp graduated from graduate of East Lansing High School in 1947, the General Motors Institute in 1950, and attended Michigan State University.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Marilyn, three children and their spouses, along with six grandchildren.
