William “Skip” Halvorson, longtime owner of General Motors fleet dealership Prospect Motors, based out of Jackson, Calif., passed away on July 16. He was 86.
Prospect Motors spent a majority of its years as General Motors’ largest volume dealer during Halvorson’s 34 years as the owner of the dealership. During its peak, fleet sales for Halvorson’s dealership approached $3 billion annually. The dealership closed in 2008 due to the impacts of the Great Recession.
