MINNETONKA, MN – Dick Asmussen passed away on June 24 in Minnetonka.
MINNETONKA, MN – Dick Asmussen passed away on June 24 in Minnetonka. He was 65. Asmussen was the long-time fleet truck manager at Long Chevrolet in Elmhurst, Ill. He joined Long Chevrolet in 1973 and worked for Don Fenton, who was the fleet manager at Long Chevrolet. After Long Chevrolet closed, Asmussen went on to work with Union City Body Company in 1977. Asmussen was later employed by Dart & Kraft Leasing in the Chicago area as the truck purchasing manager. After Dart & Kraft Leasing was acquired by GE Capital, Asmussen and his wife opened an AutoDriveaway franchise in St. Paul, Minn. He retired on Dec. 31, 2006.
