Icom North America Earns EPA Certification to Convert Ford 6.8L to Propane Autogas
Icom has been approved to convert all Ford E- and F-series platforms to propane autogas, from 14,000 to 33,000 gross vehicle weight rating, from 2009 to 2014 model-year trucks and vans.
Icom North America, manufacturer of the Icom JTG II propane liquid injection systems, stated it is among the first companies to earn Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification to convert the Ford 6.8L engine to propane autogas for several 2014 model-year trucks.
Providing both monofuel and bi-fuel options, Icom has attained EPA certifications for all Ford E-Series and F-series platforms, from 14,000 to 33,000 GVWR for 2009 through 2014. This includes commercial and passenger vehicles.
Ford E- and F-series vehicles use the 6.8L engine, including airport shuttle buses, emergency vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, electrical service vehicles, and delivery trucks.
The JTG II system features a multi-valve for rapid filling and an integrated fuel pump for ease of service.
