Hyundai has introduced its all-new Sonata sedan for 2015 at the New York International Auto Show as a larger vehicle with additional technological goodies.
The 2015 Sonata will compete in the mid-size sedan segment, but is expected to be classified as a large car by the EPA.
The new seventh-generation Sonata has been updated with Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language, a stiffer body structure, better ride quality, as well as reduced noise and vibration, according to Hyundai.
Hyundai has revised the engine offerings, reducing peak power as a trade-off for better responsiveness. The 2015 Sonata gets a 2.4L Theta II GDI four-cylinder engine that produces 185 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque. An optional 2.0L turbocharged engine produces 245 hp and 260 lb.-ft. or torque. Hyundai pairs the engines with a six-speed automatic transmission.
