Hyundai Santa Fe Recalled for Seat Belt Chimes
The recall, expected to get under way May 6, covers 34,200 vehicles in the 2016 and 2017 model years.

Hyundai Motor America is recalling 34,200 2016-2017 model-year Santa Fe vehicles because the front seat belt chimes may not work properly, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
The recall covers SUVs manufactured from Sept. 1, 2015 to Feb. 12 of this year.
The wires in the front seat belt buckle harnesses may be damaged by the seat’s height adjuster mechanism. As a result, there may be no audible warning when front-seat occupants have failed to buckle up.
Hyundai dealers will inspect and reroute the wires to their proper locations, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin May 6.
