Regulatory pressures around zero-emission mandates are not only opening the door to electric trucks and vans, but they’re also shaping the landscape of internal combustion-powered commercial vehicles. At the same time, automakers are introducing new configurations but also sunsetting small cargo vans.

In this environment, fleets will be faced with new choices and increasing intricacies when spec’ing vehicles for their duty cycles. A seminar at DeliveryCon, taking place Oct. 16-18 in Las Vegas, will help fleet operators understand these changes and plan fleet accordingly.

In the seminar “How Delivery Fleets Will Transition to Future Powertrains,” Andrew Wrobel of Escalent will present data and analysis on all vehicle classes, powertrain types, and body/upfit options — including nameplates. He’ll also delve into the adoption of technologies such as telematics and ADAS, as well as analyze the evolution of electrification for last mile.

With this roadmap, attendees can better inform their fleet purchasing plans.

Andrew Wrobel is insights director with Escalent’s Automotive & Mobility team. He has more than 10 years of experience forecasting the automotive and commercial vehicle industry, spanning vehicle production and sales, powertrains, technology, and emerging trends.

Before joining Escalent, Wrobel held positions at Rhein Associates and IHS Markit, where he supported the eMobility group at Eaton Corporation. He has a B.S. in business management from Lawrence Technological University.

“Escalent is recognized as a global leader in automotive and mobility research and consulting,” said Chris Brown, conference chair, “and Andrew is a thought leader on powertrains for commercial vehicles. We’re excited to have him share his knowledge at DeliveryCon!”
