Honda’s North American Production Impacted by Thailand Flooding
TORRANCE, CA - Honda said that effective Nov. 2, it will temporarily adjust automobile production at all of its six Honda plants in the U.S. and Canada.
TORRANCE, CA – Honda officially announced that flooding in Thailand is having an impact on its production in the U.S. The automaker stated that a number of suppliers in Thailand are unable to maintain parts production due to flooding in that country.
Honda said that effective Nov. 2, it will temporarily adjust automobile production at all of its six Honda plants in the U.S. and Canada. Production will be at 50 percent of the company’s planned volume through Nov. 10. In addition, Honda said it will make additional production adjustments as necessary. In addition the company canceled all Saturday overtime work through November and scheduled a non-production day for Friday, Nov. 11.
In terms of how it will affect the sale of specific vehicles, Honda said the December on-sale date of the 2012 Honda CR-V could be delayed by several weeks.
