Honda Ridgeline Earns Top Safety Ratings
The pickup truck, already an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ winner, draws a five-star overall safety score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The 2017-model year Honda Ridgeline, recently named 2017 North American Truck of the Year, has earned the highest possible overall safety ratings from both the U.S. government and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The Ridgeline earned a best-possible five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) after previously drawing a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.
The Ridgeline pickup drew a five-star overall rating in NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) by scoring five stars in the frontal crash tests for driver and passenger, five stars for side crash tests for both front and rear seats, and four stars in the rollover test.
The Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies comes standard on the Ridgeline RTL-E and black editions. There are more than 300,000 Honda Sensing-equipped vehicles on U.S. roads today. Honda Sensing can help avoid or mitigate the severity of a collision and includes the Collision Mitigation Braking System with forward collision warning, Road Departure Mitigation with lane departure warning, a lane-keeping assist system and adaptive cruise control.
The 2017 Ridgeline equipped with Honda Sensing technology has earned a “superior” rating from the IIHS for front crash prevention.
All 2017 Honda models come equipped with a multi-angle rearview camera as standard equipment. Additional standard safety equipment on all Honda models include the Advance Compatibility Engineering body structure, Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control, an anti-lock braking system, side curtain air bags (some vehicles equipped with a rollover sensor as well), advanced front air bags, and front side air bags.
