BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI – Hino Trucks has received Certification of Conformity from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for all of its 2007-model-year engines, adhering to stringent EPA standards of emissions reduction introduced for all on-highway heavy-duty, diesel engines in the upcoming year. Hino Trucks will start producing its 2008-model-year trucks in first quarter 2007 at its Long Beach, Calif., assembly plant. Hino introduced emissions changes in May 2005 in compliance with Japanese requirements for tighter NOx and PM levels, thus allowing Hino to get a jump on the commercial applications used in its J-series engines for the U.S. market. The Hino 2007 engine family consists of the JO5D-TF 4-cylinder and the JO8E-TV and TW 6-cylinder engines available in two horsepower ratings.
