GM Volt Could Draw 100 mpg Rating
DETROIT --- General Motors Corp. has reached an agreement with the California Air Resources Board that could result in the Chevrolet Volt electric vehicle receiving a 100 mpg fuel economy rating from the EPA, the company told the Detroit Free Press.
DETROIT --- General Motors Corp. has reached an agreement with the California Air Resources Board that could result in the Chevrolet Volt electric vehicle receiving a 100 mpg fuel economy rating from the EPA, the company told the Detroit Free Press.
GM spokesman Dee Allen told the newspaper that the rating is far from finalized, but the parties have preliminarily agreed that the Volt would be classified as an extended-range electric vehicle for the purpose of fuel-economy ratings. In that case, the Volt, due out in November 2010, could likely draw a rating of 100 miles per gallon or better.
