DETROIT – General Motors is investing $220 million in two plants in northeast Ohio, Lordstown and Parma, to build the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze compact sedan.
The automaker stated the all-new Chevrolet Cruze will offer new exterior and interior design and styling, better fuel economy, and more storage space. GM added it will announce when it plans to start building the vehicle at a later date.
The automaker stated the Lordstown complex has built more than 14.6 million cars since it opened in April 1966. In 2011, the Parma Metal Center, on the other hand, shipped roughly 60 million parts and processed more than 1,000 tons of steel per day for the majority of GM vehicle lines produced in North America.
