GM Recalling Nearly 300,000 Chevy HHR Wagons
WASHINGTON, D.C. --- General Motors Corp. is recalling nearly 300,000 Chevrolet HHR wagons because of a problem with a storage bin latch, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall covers 296,422 HHRs built for the 2006 through 2008 model years.
During testing, a storage bin in the top center of the instrument panel failed to remain closed as required by federal safety standards.
HHR wagon owners affected by the recall will be sent a latch reinforcement and instructions on how to install it. GM said that owners also have the option of having their local Chevrolet dealer install the part.
