General Motors Fleet has appointed Betsy Flegg as regional director for the Northeast region following the retirement of Jeff Hagg after a 33-year career, GM has announced.

Flegg, a 28-year GM veteran, began her role in June and will oversee a region that includes New England, New York and the Mid-Atlantic states. In this role, Flegg manages the field sales team to develop strong customer and dealer relationships and meet vehicle share and delivery objectives in the region.

Hagg will retire in July. GM also announced the retirement of Brian Bowden from his role as government sales manager.

Hagg

Flegg was with Chevrolet, where she helped develop the launch strategies for the next-generation 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and Traverse crossovers. Prior to that, she spent 12 years working with fleet customers across the country as an account executive, service development manager, commercial product manager and advertising and marketing manager.

"GM Fleet has made huge strides building stronger relationships with Commercial and Government fleet managers thanks to the hard work of Jeff Haag and Brian Bowden. They have nearly 70 years' of experience between them, and were devoted to finding solutions for our customers," said Ed Peper, vice president of GM Fleet. "Betsy and Dana share the same commitment and they will help us accelerate everything we are doing to become the preferred business partner for Government and Commercial customers."

GM has been gaining market share in the commercial fleet segment for 10 consecutive months through May. Combined deliveries to government and commercial customers are now more than half of all GM Fleet deliveries, according to GM.
