General Motors Corp. announced on March 1 it will extend its “GM Overdrive” marketing program. GM will offer $2,002 customer cash or APR financing rates of 0.0/2.9/3.9%* (36/48/60 months) on the fleet purchase of most new, 2002-model Chevrolet, Pontiac, GMC, Buick, and Oldsmobile cars and trucks through April 1. In addition to the above customer cash, fleet customers are eligible for $500 of “Fleet Bonus Cash.” The $500 “Fleet Bonus Cash” is on 2002-model Cavalier, Grand Am, Century, Malibu, and Regal, delivered fleet, from March 1, 2002 to April 1, 2002. “Fleet Bonus Cash” is in addition to VX5 or “GM Overdrive” customer cash. “GM and its dealers have been very pleased with the success of the ‘GM Overdrive’ marketing program,” said Bill Lovejoy, group vice president of GM North America Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing. “We continue to see excellent progress in our retail performance and ‘GM Overdrive’ is a program we feel can increase our sales leadership with our industry leading lineup of innovative products. “We will continue to send one clear and powerful message through ‘GM Overdrive.’ With a prominent national, regional and local marketing campaign, GM can properly leverage all of our vehicle divisions and GM dealers in the marketplace." The retail advertising for “GM Overdrive” will begin on March 1. The theme of the ads will focus on GM’s growing momentum and leadership in the marketplace. The ad campaign will include print and TV spots, with the TV ads focusing on NCAA basketball, NASCAR, CBS prime and entertainment cable. The following models offer $1,500 customer cash or 0.0/2.9/3.9* APR financing: Chevrolet TrailBlazer, Silverado extended cab and crew cab, Suburban and Tahoe, GMC Envoy, Sierra ex-tended cab and crew cab, GMC Yukon models, Oldsmobile Bravada and Pontiac Aztek.
