Georgia Dealers Auto Auction in Atlanta recently held two customized sales for Bill Heard Enterprises, Inc., running 812 vehicles across the block and selling nearly 700 – or 84 percent – of the vehicles. The success of the sales has led to a formal partnership between Bill Heard Enterprises and Georgia Dealers Auto Auction. Nine Bill Heard dealerships in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida send hundreds of vehicles to the auction, where they cross the block in a special Wednesday afternoon sale every three weeks. All of the vehicles are either trade-ins or aged inventory (90-day old vehicles) and range in value from $2,000 to $20,000. Georgia Dealers runs the units in two lanes; one for those valued at less than $6,000 and one for those valued at $6,000 or more. To help the dealerships prepare for the sales and track units sold, Manheim also provides training for title clerks on Manheim Online and myAccount, valuable online tools that provide real-time account information. The group also is using MMR to set floor prices for vehicles.
