General Manager of Manheim's Greater Chicago Auto Auction to Retire
John Duca, general manager of the Greater Chicago Auto Auction, will retire effective July 1, after 36 years in the auto auction business. Duca will be replaced by Art Soudek, auction manager of the Greater Chicago Auto Auction. Duca has worked in the auto auction business since 1965, serving as general manager of the Los Angeles Dealers Auto Auction from 1986 to 1993. In 1993, Manheim Auctions transferred Duca to general manager of the Southern California Auto Auction, where he stayed until 1997, when he accepted a position as general manager of the Greater Chicago Auto Auction. Duca is a past president of the Western Auto Auction Association and a member of the board of directors of the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA). He also served as convention chair for the 1999 NAAA convention.
