Gasoline Rises to $2.38 Per Gallon
The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded fuel increased 4.2 cents to $2.381 for the week ending June 6, according to federal data.

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded fuel increased 4.2 cents to $2.381 for the week ending June 6, according to federal data.
The price is now 39.9 cents lower than a year ago and increased in seven of the nine regions tracked by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The sharpest increase came in the Midwest (6.9 cents to $2.409), while the Central Atlantic ($2.345) and Rocky Mountain ($2.314) regions were fractionally lower. The Lower Atlantic and Gulf Coast added at least 5 cents, reaching $2.277 and $2.142 respectively.
Nine states now have an average price of at least $2.509, including California, Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Nevada, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. South Carolina now has the lowest average price at $2.099, according to the AAA's Gas Prices tracker.
Meanwhile, the average price of a gallon of diesel increased 2.5 cents to $2.407. Diesel now costs 47.7 cents less than it did a year ago.
