Fuelman of DFW: 75 Years of Fueling Business
FORT WORTH, TEXAS – From a predecessor company that traced its roots to the Mexican oil boom in the early days of the last century to today’s software-intensive fleet fuel management business, Barney Holland Oil Company has survived to celebrate its 75th anniversary by anticipating industry changes. Now doing business as Fuelman of DFW, the company’s evolution mirrors many of the complex changes that have characterized the fuel industry since the 1920s. The company has evolved from delivering fuel with a chain-driven Mack tank-wagon truck to selling fuel with PIN-encoded fuel cards authorized over the Internet. Commercial and municipal fleet operators contract with Fuelman DFW to avoid environmental liability and having capital tied up in fuel tanks and inventory.
