Freightliner Trucks has introduced the Condor Class 8 low cab forward vehicle for front loader refuse applications. A Condor with a commercial front loader refuse body was displayed at the April 3-5 Waste Expo 2001 show in Chicago. Sterling Motor Co. of Willoughby, OH also announced the availability of its Sterling Condor Class 8 low cab forward. The Sterling offering was also shown at the Waste Expo in April. Both vehicles boast a vast, two-piece windshield and large side and rear windows, with more than 43 square feet of glass and offering a 238-degree field of vision. Optional rear window configurations can increase the field of vision to 273 degrees. Maneuverability, comfort, ergonomics, multiple steering configurations, and durability are some of the points stressed by both Freightliner and Sterling.
