FLAT ROCK, MI – Ford announced that its Flat Rock Assembly Plant will be producing the automaker’s 2013-MY Ford Fusion sedan. The plant was previously known as the automaker’s AutoAlliance International plant but is now under full management control of Ford. The plan is still owned by a joint venture split 50/50 between Ford and Mazda Motor Corp.
The plant will build the Fusion and the Mustang. Mazda plans to stop production of the Mazda6 at this plant, according to Ford. Ford stated it plans to add 1,200 hourly jobs to the plant next year as part of this production change.
